Honeymoon Missouri Trailer

A trailer for Honeymoon Missouri (see below) which I edited myself. I love hotels. Before humanity existed, the space of the hotel room existed, undefined. Humanity came along, passed through, and gave shape to this space. It was in this space that we discovered secret truths about ourselves.

Honeymoon Missouri

Honeymoon Missouri is about a lone traveler who’s night at a hotel room veers into sinister territory when she’s given a suite that’s been reserved by another customer.

During quarantine, special effects work in Hollywood dried up. I told myself that if I were to direct a serious picture, now is the time. I wrote the script over the course of a month based on an idea that had been floating around in my head for a few years. I brought a producer on board who’s a good friend and we started fundraising. Within a month, we raised 15k, locked in a location, hired a cast and crew, and began rehearsals. Next month, we were shooting. When I began editing the footage, I thought to myself “holy shit, this is exactly how I imagined it.” Liminal, suspenseful, Hitchcockian. Honeymoon Missouri went on to premiere at numerous festivals, and it even received a few awards, like Best Ensemble Cast at the NYC Indie Shorts Awards, and Best Thriller at the Manhattan Film Festival. Enjoy!
